One-stop access to important schemes of women empowerment.
SWADHAR Greh:
- Launched Year: 2002
- Ministry: Ministry of Women and Child Development
- Aim: SWADHAR Greh provides shelter and rehabilitation to women in difficult circumstances such as women in distress, victims of domestic violence, trafficking, and abandoned women.
- Objectives: Empower women by providing safe housing and support in difficult circumstances. Focus on skill training and income generation for self-reliance.
- Benefits: Ensures secure and dignified living for vulnerable women. Equips them with skills to lead independent lives and reintegrate into society.
Ujjwala:
- Launched Year: 2016
- Ministry: Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas
- Aim: Ujjwala is a transformative scheme that aims to provide clean cooking fuel to women from economically weaker households. It focuses on replacing traditional cooking methods, which often involve burning firewood or coal, with cleaner LPG connections.
- Objectives: Provide clean cooking fuel to economically weaker households, replacing traditional methods. Improve women's health and well-being.
- Benefits: Reduces indoor air pollution, frees up women's time, and promotes better health for families.
National Mission for Empowerment of Women:
- Launched Year: 2010
- Ministry: Ministry of Women and Child Development
- Aim: The National Mission for Empowerment of Women (NMEW) aims to empower women holistically by ensuring the convergence of schemes and programmes meant for women across ministries and departments.
- Objectives: Holistically empower women through skill development, micro-credit, education, health, and legal aid.
- Benefits: Creates a safer environment, enhances social and economic empowerment, and promotes gender sensitization.
Rajiv Gandhi Scheme for Empowerment of Adolescent Girls:
- Launched Year: 2010
- Ministry: Ministry of Women and Child Development
- Aim: This scheme, also known as RGSEAG or Sabla, aims to improve the nutritional, health, and development status of adolescent girls aged 11-18 years.
- Objectives: Objectives: Improve nutritional, health, and development status of adolescent girls. Focus on education and life skills.
- Benefits: Reduces anaemia, delays early marriage and pregnancy, enhances self-esteem, and offers vocational training.
Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana:
- Launched Year: 2015
- Ministry: Ministry of Finance
- Aim: Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY) aims to encourage parents to save for the education and marriage expenses of their girl child.
- Objectives: Encourage parents to save for girl child's education and marriage expenses.
- Benefits: Attractive interest rate, tax benefits, and exclusive account operation by the girl child after turning 18.
Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY):
- Launched Year: 2017
- Ministry: Ministry of Women and Child Development
- Aim: PMMVY is a maternity benefit programme that aims to provide partial compensation for wage loss to pregnant women and lactating mothers.
- Objectives: Provide partial compensation for wage loss to pregnant and lactating women.
- Benefits: Cash incentive of Rs 5,000 in three installments to support women during pregnancy and early motherhood
